ABOUT
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath session can range from 30 to 90 minutes. During a sound bath, participants will lie on a yoga mat and close their eyes, allowing stillness to wash over you. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath I will then create healing sounds using a variety of different instruments with the intention that you as the listener will hear and feel the sounds in different parts of the body.
It is a meditative and therapeutic experience whereby you "bathe" in the sound waves and vibrations produced by the crystal singing and Himalayan Tibet bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, rainsticks and more.
It is a full - body listening experience. The sounds produced help bring your focus away from your thoughts, giving you an opportunity to unplug, balance the nervous system and bring you to the present moment.
Meet the Teacher
Katie Brown, a sound practitioner, herbalist, recovery peer mentor, and mother of two lovely daughters, spent five years living on the Islands of Hawai'i starting in 2010. It was during this time that she embarked on her healing journey, exploring various holistic modalities such as herbal medicine, dance expression, sound therapy, and art.
During 2019, Katie chose to cease her alcohol consumption and prioritize her healing process by engaging in inner child work, meditation, movement, and attending regular sound therapy sessions. Furthermore, she successfully obtained her herbalism certifications and dedicated nearly three years to an apprenticeship at SW Herb shop in Mesa, AZ. As a recovery peer mentor, Katie has provided guidance and support to numerous individuals dealing with substance abuse. Additionally, she exhibits a strong passion for natural childbirth and empowering mothers during the birthing process, as well as in the postpartum and motherhood stages.
The trauma that Katie went through has driven her to find her purpose in healing and serving others. Katie recognizes her calling to support and guide individuals in their healing process by utilizing the power of sound therapy, natural body healing through herbal medicine, and rediscovering the joy in their lives.
